Betty's story...
Our raw feeding journey started when we decided to try our cat, Betty on a raw diet. Betty had always been a skinny cat, who was a picky eater. She was often sick and had a temperamental tum. We sourced a high protein natural based food and supplemented her new diet with raw white fish.
Betty thrived, she gained weight and her tummy issues seemed to disappear overnight. We were converted to raw feeding and haven't looked back!

What is a raw food diet?
Raw feeding is the diet that nature intended for our cats and dogs. As we now become more aware of the food that we eat and consume, why shouldn’t we also be concerned about the food that our canine & feline friends are eating?
Raw feeding is not a new trend... dogs and wolves have been eating raw meat and bones since the beginning of time.
Here are the biggest myths about raw food diets for dogs
We recommend the 80/10/10 method for feeding – 80% muscle meat, 10% offal, 10% bone. This is a balanced complete meal and can also be supplemented with vegetables, fruit, raw eggs, probiotics & coconut oil.
Myth #2: Feeding Your Dog Raw Can Put Them at Risk of Salmonella
Our pups actually have high hydrochloric stomach acidity with a low pH level of 1-2. These low PH levels actually kill off the Salmonella bacteria. (Salmonella cannot survive in conditions other than a pH range of 3.8 to 9.5.), This means it unlikely for Salmonella to affect our dogs.
Our dogs also have digestive enzymes that work to help neutralize bacteria and help prevent harmful micro-organisms like Salmonella from affecting them. Bacteria are naturally occurring and our dogs used to be free roamers, so dogs are adapted to fight off those pesky pathogens!
Myth #3: A Raw Diet Can Make Your Dog More Aggressive
A fresh meat diet has none of the ingredients that are known to influence poor behaviour – In fact raw dog food has no added chemicals! Dry food, usually containing cheap cereal filler, is generally 50% carbohydrates. Unfortunately, even when insulin has controlled the sugar levels, there is still sugar in the system and this is known to cause disruptive behaviour (like children on a sugar-high after a birthday party). Raw dog food has no carbohydrates in it, and if carbohydrates are being added to the diet, the quantity and type can be controlled.
Myth #4: Raw Bones are Dangerous
Cooked bones are definitely dangerous as they become brittle and will split when cooked. However raw bones do not splinter and are very beneficial to you dog to provide enrichment, promotes firm stools, aids digestion and helps to keep their teeth clean and breath fresh
Myth #5: Raw diets are expensive
We believe that you are what you eat and why shouldn’t this be the same for your dog. The food which we sell and promote are high in nutritional ratings ( from unbiased findings compared to other dog food) On average a 30kg dog will cost approx. £1.50 a day to feed a raw diet or £10 per week.

How much raw food should I feed my puppy?
The amount you need to feed your growing puppies is solely dependent on the age of your little one.
Start with one protein at a time for 1 week, if there are no signs of a tummy upset, then in the 2nd week move onto the 2nd protein.
We recommend starting with Chicken & tripe
You should carefully watch your puppy as he develops.
Puppies should be lean and not overweight, this is to help protect their muscles & joints.
Remember that the above %’s are a guide and a common-sense attitude is needed by the doggy parent at all times to ensure their pup does not gain too much weight.

What if my dog or cat goes off raw food and becomes fussy?
If your dog suddenly stops eating his raw dinner or becomes a fussy eater, it 'is a sign that he is being overfed.
In this instance reduce the amount you feed either by quantity or by the frequency.
You might also want to try a different protein or one which contains tripe. Tripe has a very pungent aroma, but if you can stomach it, tripe can appeal to even the pickiest of dogs. Dogs love the strong smell, which is particularly good for older dogs who may have lost some of their sense of smell.
Tripe is a superfood for dog, It is full of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, protein, and healthy fats. It is very digestible & contains naturally-occurring probiotics and digestive enzymes.
Tripe is especially good for dogs and cats with sensitive stomachs & dogs who have had diarrhoea.
