A double-blind randomized placebo controlled study assessing safety, tolerability and efficacy of palmitoylethanolamide for symptoms of knee osteoarthritis (in humans)

Summary: 

The study assessed the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) in 111 adults with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis. Improvements were seen in all measured outcomes (joint pain, stiffness, and function) using the WOMAC sub-domains, suggesting that PEA is effective in reducing symptoms of knee osteoarthritis and improving quality of life.
